In this session, current students will share insights on 10 things they wish they had known before applying. The admissions team will offer additional guidance, providing prospective students with valuable coaching and advice.
Tuesday, December 17, 2024 Session 2: “5 Ways to Make Optometry School Affordable” – Featuring the Director of Financial Aid
This session will provide practical tips for making optometry school more affordable. The Director of Financial Aid will highlight financial aid options and share strategies for minimizing debt while maintaining a comfortable lifestyle during school.
Tuesday, February 25, 2025 Session 3: “10 Ways to Overcome the Feeling of Being ‘The Only One'” – Featuring First-Generation and Underrepresented Students
This session will explore 10 strategies that first-generation and underrepresented students have used to overcome the challenges of feeling like the only one in the room. The admissions team and the Office of DEIB will also discuss support services available at the College to help students thrive.
Tuesday, March 18, 2025 Session 4: “Ask Me Anything: Director of Admissions”
In this session, participants will have the opportunity to engage directly with the Director of Admissions to ask questions about the SUNY Optometry program, its offerings, the admissions process, and any other relevant details. This is a great chance to learn more about what makes the SUNY Optometry program unique and how to navigate the application process.
