What does receiving this award or scholarship mean to you?
BILLIE LYONS MEMORIAL AWARD Distinguished Service to the College Community I have always strongly believed that what you receive from something depends on how much effort you're willing to put into it. I loved being a part of the SUNY community and I am honored to receive this award as an acknowledgement that I was able to give back to the student body in some way. I’m glad my efforts have made a positive impact, and I’m grateful for the recognition. DR. STANLEY EISENBERG MEMORIAL AWARD For Excellence in Practice Development And Administration Administrative duties are often challenging, but they are also incredibly rewarding. Through my involvement, I’ve had the privilege of meeting many inspirational individuals and fostering valuable connections. Being a part of SUNY leadership has also provided me with invaluable lessons, far beyond what can be learned in a classroom. I am deeply grateful for the knowledge I’ve gained, the people I’ve met, and the opportunities I’ve had during my time here. This award is a testament to those experiences and the growth they have inspired in me.
What are your plans following graduation?
I am doing the Cornea and Contact Lens Residency at SUNY Optometry!
What advice would you give incoming or prospective optometry students?
Show up, be present, participate, and learn. Your time anywhere will be what you make out of it.
