What does receiving this award or scholarship mean to you?
Receiving these awards signifies a kind appreciation and recognition of my hard work and passion for being involved in not only SUNY but the field of Optometry. I have always been an advocate for the profession, striving for excellence in patient care, and building a sense of community for my colleagues. From taking initiative in clubs, leading new events, and attending conferences, I hoped to encourage my classmates and future ODs by showing how being involved can be fun and I am very grateful for the opportunities I was able to partake in to accomplish just that. This recognition is not just a testament to my abilities, but also reaffirms my commitment to leadership and motivates me to continue enhancing the skills I've honed to make a positive impact for my community and patients.
What are your plans following graduation?
I plan to continue my involvement with advocacy and work in a full scope practice with a path of interest in private practice.
