Receiving this award acknowledges the tremendous efforts I have put in my academic and clinical studies. It symbolizes my hard work and my commitment to mastering a deep understanding of my studies, ultimately to better serve my future patients.
What are your plans following graduation?
I will be working in my neighborhood in Brooklyn as a primary care optometrist, serving my local community.
What advice would you give incoming or prospective optometry students?
When you are studying in optometry school, seek to understand the material you are presented, rather than memorize the material. This allows your knowledge to remain deeply rooted in you, and serve as a basis to continue building knowledge in your future clinical years as an optometrist in an ever-evolving healthcare space.
