What does receiving this award or scholarship mean to you?
I am honored to receive these awards and to be recognized for my hard work throughout my years at SUNY. These awards will motivate me to continue to learning in the field and being the best doctor that I could possibly be for my future patients!

What drew you to the field of optometry?
I always knew I wanted to work in healthcare and optometry specifically peaked my interest after shadowing an OD in high school. I decided to do the 3/4 SUNY Optometry Joint Degree program my senior year of high school, and spent my undergraduate years developing shadowing experience in the field which further motivated me to become an optometrist.

What are your plans following graduation?
I am going to be working in private practices in Brooklyn, helping to serve the community that I was raised in.
